THE ACTING VICE CHANCELLOR, EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY, ADO-EKITI

The Acting Vice Chancellor Professor (Mrs.) Olubunmi Bolanle Ajayi was born in Ifaki-Ekiti on 7th November, 1964. She attended University of Benin, Benin-City (1981-1985) where she obtained B.Sc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry and bagged a Master’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Ibadan (1988-1990) and got her Doctorate degree from University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Acting Vice Chancellor Prof (Mrs.) Olubunmi B. Ajayi started her teaching career in Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University) in 1987, as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Biochemistry and rose to the position of a Professor in October, 2011. She is a Professor of Food and Nutritional Biochemistry.

Prof (Mrs) Olubunmi B. Ajayi was a member of Faculty of Science Research Committee and also Senate representative on Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital Board. She was Chairman, Senate Committee on Special Task Force on Recovery of Students Academic Records in the Faculty of Arts. She was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) until her appointment as Acting Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University.

She is a member of Several Professional Societies. These include: Nigerian Society of Experimental Biology, National Association of Women in Academics (EKSU Chapter), Organisation of Women Scientists in Developing World, (OWSDW) and American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB).

Professor Olubunmi B. Ajayi has several well researched publications in both local and international reputable journals.

She is married and blessed with children.
