The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor (Mrs.) Olubunmi B. Ajayi has reiterated her commitment to making teaching/learning environment conducive for staff and students of the institution.
Professor Ajayi made the pledge in her address at the 2018/2019 matriculation ceremony for the fresh regular degree students of the University in affiliation with the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin.
According to the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, the vision of Ekiti State University is to train and produce men and women of honour equipped with good education, strong character, high level of morality and integrity. As such, she assured that all efforts would be made to realize the vision.
Prof. Ajayi remarked further that Ekiti State University is not only located in an environment where professors are found in virtually every household, but that the university is blessed with high caliber of world class academics who have distinguished themselves in their areas of specialization.
She advised the matriculating students to be guided by the fear of God, be hardworking and to shun all forms of anti-social behaviours as the University would not hesitate to expel any students whose behaviour does not conform with the acceptable norms of the University.
Earlier, the Provost of the College, Dr. Yusuf Abdulraheem congratulated the fresh students for being found worthy of the admission in view of the limited space that was available and appealed to the National Universities Commission (NUC) to increase the institution’s admission quota.
The Registrar of the University, Barrister Akin Arogundade administered the oath of allegiance to the 310 matriculants.
