The Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Ekiti, Most Rev. Felix Femi Ajakaye has described the outgoing Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University Prof. Oladipo Aina as a man who has God guidance and protection during his tenure as Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University.
The Bishop made the the monthly prayer session by EKSU staff held at the main auditorium of the University.
At the service which served as valedictory for the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Bishop Ajakaye further described Prof. Aina as God fearing and on assuming personality in all his deeds and thought during tenure as Vice – Chancellor.
He congratulated him on his immense positive contributions to the University.
Bishop Ajakaye who said that he had the honour to bless him while assuming duties stressed that it was a privilege to be at his valedictory service.
The Bishop also congratulated the incoming Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele on his appointment and advised him to be God fearing, honest and fair in his dealings. “Surround yourself with smart people, be a person of quality to attract quality followership”,
the Bishop admonished.
The Vice-Chancellor, in an emotional speech prayed for members of staff, students and entire University community for protection and positive development in making the University a first class University. He praised the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose for allowing him to complete his tenure despite spurious petitions against him. Prof Aina further commended the Governor for approving the recommendation of the Governing Council on the appointment of Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele as the next Vice-Chancellor of the University. The occasion was attended by members of staff,
students and other well wishers.
