The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria has commended Ekiti State University for the recent success recorded in both academic growth and infrastructural development which has impressively positioned the University among the best in Nigeria.

The president and Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Prof. Segun Ajibola who led his group on a mission to strengthen existing relationship with the University.

Prof. Ajibola said that the Chartered Institute of Bankers had been a partner in progress with the University for a long time and that the organization was ready to offer its senior professionals as academic personnel in the Faculty of Management Sciences to infuse professionalism into the academic training.

The CIBN president added that the Institute has the core mandate to defend and sustain the ethics of banking, instill discipline, train bankers and offer capacity training for banks and related institutions.

He informed the Vice-Chancellor that Nigeria would play host to the world conference of Banking Institute and invited the University and the Vice-Chancellor to present a delegation to attend.

The Dean, EKSU Faculty of Management Sciences, Professor Afolabi Popoola who briefed the Vice-Chancellor on the relationship between the CIBN and Ekiti State University said it has been a productive synergy between the two institutions.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele said that he was impressed with the contribution of the Chartered Institute of Bankers to societal growth and promotion of academic excellence.

He called for a more technological driven banking system and assured the CIBN of the support of and cooperation of the University.
