All is now set for the 22nd Convocation ceremony of Ekiti State University which is scheduled to hold between Monday March 7th 2017 to Saturday April lst, 2017 on the University campus. The week long ceremony will feature series of events starting with the Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference and the Commissioning of the EKSU Water Project on Monday, 27th March, 2017 at l0am followed by the convocation play on Tuesday, 28th March, 2017 in the University auditorium.
Convocation lecture titled “Breaking the jinx-The Cyclical Nature of Nigerian problems” will be delivered by a legal icon and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN on Thursday, 30th March, 2017. in the University Main Auditorium.
On Friday, 31st March 2017, it will be the award of first degree and award of prizes for graduating students the climax is on Saturday, 1st of April 201 7, as Three distinguished Nigerians will be conferred with the award of doctorate degrees, Honoris Causa for their immeasurable contributions to academic, philanthropy and humanitarian gestures. The three eminent Nigerians are: the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, who is the Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Hassan Dankwabo and a business Mogul and Member of the House of Representatives, Oladipupo Adebutu.
HRM Emir of Kano, Mohammadu Sanusi II Mallam Sanusi Lamido, the Emir of Kano is the grandson of former Emir of Kano and Islamic scholar, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi. The Emir of Kano started as a lecturer at the Ahamadu Bello University Zaria from where he moved into the
Banking sector and rose to the position of General Manager, UBA bank and later sound First Bank Nig, Plc as and rose to the position of Chief Executive Officer. He was appointed
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on 3rd June 2009 and managed the country banking system to safety following a global financial crisis He championed various result oriented reforms at the CBN before this nomination and coronation as the Emir of Kano.
Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dakwanbo is the incumbent Governor of Gombe State, a graduate of Accounting with 2nd Class Division from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria he obtained M.Sc in Economics from University of Lagos and he is a Fellow and Associate member of six Professional bodies including Fellow, Chattered Accountant of Nigeria,
Associate Member Nigeria Institute of Management, Fellow Chattered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Fellow Chattered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. His career spanned both private and public sector including the Central Bank of Nigeria before his appointment as the Accountant General of Gombe State in 1999. He has attended several international courses in different countries and served on various State and National committees.
Due to his outstanding excellence. Ahaji Dakwambo was voted as governor of Gombe State in 2011 and was re-elected for second term in office in the 2015 General Election.
Chief Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu is the son of Chief Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu, OON, CON, KJW distinguished business mogul and philanthropist, a distinguished Nigerian and pioneer of lotto in the country. Chief Oladipupo Adebutu graduated from the prestigious National Institute of Higher Education, Republic of Ireland with equivalent of Bachelor of Science Degree in Analytical Chemistry. He is the Chief Executive officer of JB farms one of the largest livestock farms in Nigeria.
Chief Adebutu is a politician of high repute, he was voted into the National Assembly in 1992, representing Remo Federal constituency. A detribalized Nigeria and socialite, he has donated to humanitarian projects across the country, constructing classrooms, providing bursaries, construction of roads and scholarship to student and institutions. He has empowered thousands of craft and skills men and businesses at the grass roots. Chief Adebutu has received several honours and recognitions including that of Babcock University Ilisha Remo and that of National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS). A grassroot politician and man of the people, Adebutu holds the chieftaincy title of Otunba Nawoola of Odogbolu town in Ijebu area of Ogun State.

Chief Olanipekun attended Amoye Grammar School in Ikere, Ekiti State, Southwestern Nigeria but obtained the West Africa School Certificate at Ilesa Grammar before he proceeded to the University of Lagos, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Law.
Chief Wole Olanipekun was called to the bar on July 1976 after he graduated from the Nigerian Law School and attained the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on July 1991, the same year he was appointed as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State and served in that capacity for two years.
In 2002, he was elected as President of the Nigerian Bar Association. In 2003 he was appointed the vice President of the Pan African Lawyers Union. On January 2007, became a Life bencher, appointed by the Nigerian Body of Benchers. He was the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the University of lbadan between 2004 and 2006. In 2003, Chief Olanipekun was appointed the Vice President of the Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU).
Chief Olanipekun is married with 4 children. The erudite lawyer is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association and the Nigerian Body of Benchers. Chief Wole Olanipekun has authored several legal books

The Vice-Chancellor has graciously approved that all graduating students who have completed their clearance will be eligible to collect their certificates during the convocation at a cost of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only. Kindly pay the Stipulated Amount into EKSU IGR No: 1008844821 in Any UBA Plc. The Certificates will be presented during the Convocation Ceremony.
Certificate collection is N25,000:00 after Convocation Day.
