The Vice -Chancellor recently constituted three research teams as follows:
The Biomedical Research Team
The biomedical research team is expected to use some road maps including Imaging and imaging – led therapies, molecular diagnostics, specialized nutrition, enabling technologies and infrastructure, genetically modified food and challenges, pharmacotherapy, global health, emerging diseases in emerging markets and other reliable sub-themes, to proffer solutions to biomedical problems especially as they may affect Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
Food Security Research Team
Food security research team is expected to work in order to advance food security and development through (i) advancing the food productivity frontier; (ii) transforming food production systems; and (iii) enhancing nutrition and food safety.
Water Reuse Research Team
Water reuse research team is expected to focus on water purification and sanitation, water use and irrigation and water and energy. The team would in particular look into the areas of technological developments, such as bio-nano materials and biological innovations as well as water purification by bacteria.
The three research teams are saddled with the responsibility of bringing up unsolicited research proposals that may be supported by International funding agencies or national corporate bodies in their relevant fields/ areas. The various teams have been holding meetings so as to meet up with the mandate given to them by the University.
