Professor (Mrs.) Olubunmi Bolanle Ajayi of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science of the University had held various positions before her appointment. She was a Sub-Dean, Head of Department as well as Assistant Director, Pre degree Science, among other notable positions. She was Chairman, Senate Committee on Special Task force on Recovery of Students Academic Records in the Faculty of Arts and until her appointment; she was the Chairman, University Bakery Committee.
Born on 7th November, 1964 in Ifaki-Ekiti, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) attended University of Benin, Benin-City (1981-1985) where she obtained B.Sc. (Hons) Biochemistry. She attended the University of Ibadan (1988-1990) and obtained a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry and in the year 2000 the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) bagged a Doctorate degree from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria.
She is a member of several professional societies. These include: Nigerian Society of Experimental Biology, National Association of Women in Academics (EKSU Chapter), and Organization of Women Scientists in Developing World.
Professor Ajayi has thirty nine well researched publications in both local and international journals. She is married and blessed with children.
