It was a happy reunion as one of the coordinators of the Alumni association of Ekiti State University in the United States of America (USA) Mr. Adeolu Tinubu visited the Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel Oye Bandele in his office to brief him on the growth and development recently recorded by the graduates of the institution who reside in the USA.
Mr. Tinubu expressed satisfaction on the infrastructural development and overall growth in size, academic quality and international affiliation that have been achieved in Ekiti State University (EKSU) in recent years.
The Ekiti State University graduate informed the Vice Chancellor that the Alumni association in the United States is waxing stronger with increase in membership. Mr. Tinubu said he had visited the postgraduate village currently under construction by the National Alumni Association. The village will consist of post graduate hostels, residential buildings for the staff, market and other amenities for a beautiful community. The Alumnus stressed that the Ekiti State University Alumni USA would offer its support towards the realization of the project. In his remarks, the Ekiti State University National Alumni President, Mr. Dotun Adetuberu who led the delegation to the Vice Chancellor’s office described the Ekiti State University, United States Alumni association as a group of loyal and progressive graduates committed to their Alma Mata.
Mr. Adetuberu assured the Vice Chancellor of the unalloyed support of the Alumni association in the positive turn around of the University spreading across all sectors including Information Communication Technology (ICT) growth, Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) drive, discipline, infrastructural development and stable calendar.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel Oye Bandele commended the Ekiti State University, Alumni Association Coordinator in USA, Mr. Adeolu Tinubu for visiting his Alma Mata and expressed joy over the giant strides of the Alumni in overseas countries including United Kingdom and Ireland, Canada, France, Professor Bandele further urged members to continue being their brother’s keeper.
The Ekiti State University Vice Chancellor told his visitor that his administration within three years has strengthened identified weak areas in the system and embarked on financial transparency, staff training and prompt issuance of certificates.
