A visit of the crew of the Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs to the animal house, of the College of Medicine revealed that the animal house has rabbits, rats and mice for sale to the University community.

            The Coordinator of the centre, Dr. Olatunde Oseni said the aim was to breed animals of any kind for experimental purposes of basic medical and scientific researches as required by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for the training of medical doctors.

            The Coordinator explained that initial animal stocks in December 2014 were 6 rabbits (1 male and 5 females) 12 rats (2 males and 10 females) and 12 mice (2 males and 10 females), but the animal house now have increased stocks to 139 mice, 403 rats and 22 rabbits.
