The Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU), Prof. Olubunmi Ajayi has commissioned the EKSU Micro-Teaching Laboratory, an academic project fully-funded by Faculty of Education of the Institution.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Olubunmi B. Ajayi praised the ingenuity of the Faculty in embarking on the project which would no doubt expand the frontiers of knowledge in the University.

The Ag. VC described the timing of the commissioning as auspicious, which coincidentally took place before the commencement of the 2017/2018 Teaching Practice orientation exercise and noted that the project would solve most of the challenges and phobia student teachers face.

However, she challenged the lecturers in the Faculty of Education to make optimal use of the Laboratory to teach all the components of teaching that would prepare the students for an effective teaching practice programme.

The Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Babatola Ayodele validated the importance of a virile education system in national development and admonished the lecturers to make good use of the Laboratory in the training of students to enable them to compete globally.

The chairman, Teaching Practice Committee, Professor Remi O. Famiwole (MNIM) thanked the Management for its support in making the Laboratory a reality and appealed for the provision of a bus to aid effective supervision of teaching practice exercise.
