The Management of Ekiti State University has applauded the stance of the visitor to the University (EKSU), Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose for giving strict directives on curbing the menace of cultism in the University and other parts of the state.
Professor Samuel Oye Bandele, Vice-Chancellor EKSU, who expressed the University’s appreciation, also reiterated the Governor’s directive that a 14-day ultimatum given to all students or individuals who belong to cult groups to surrender to the University authorities for amnesty.
“Those who refuse to surrender will face the full wrath of the law including prosecution and expulsion from the University”, Professor Bandele stressed.
The vice-Chancellor reminded students and the entire University community that the Governor has promised to enact a law to make cultism punishable by death in Ekiti State while Landlords housing such dangerous elements will have their houses demolished by government.
Professor Bandele however assured innocent and law-abiding staff, students and the entire university community of adequate security and to go about their daily activities on campus without fear.
