The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof. Patrick Oladipo Aina has stressed that Ekiti State University was on the path of becoming one of the best universities in Africa. He made the declaration during the PowerPoint presentation of the Entrepreneurial Studies’ plan for the University. He said that the University embarked on entrepreneurship training for its students as part of the turning around and transformation of the university to produce graduates who would be skilled and be self employed.
The Consultant to the Program, Mrs. Foluso Olaniyan stressed that the programme would be beneficial to all and sundry. In her words: “This project when commissioned will improve the economy of the state. It is going to pass to students and prospective students vocational skills that will contribute to the development of the economy of the state”.
Mrs. Olaniyan pointed out that entrepreneurship training would also be beneficial to females even when at home to take care of their children “Rather than being unemployed, they can make sundry incomes by doing the skills acquisition venture learnt when they were in school”, the Consultant stressed.
The Director of the Entrepreneurship Centre, Prof. J. O. Oloyede was among several officers of the University present at the PowerPoint presentation.
