Ekiti State University (EKSU) has organized a solemn prayer session to stop untimely deaths in the University and Ekiti State in general.

Leading the prayer, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele noted that the University and Ekiti State were in mourning mood as a result of the recent death of six medical doctors and a driver in a motor accident while on a trip to Kaduna.

One of the medical doctors, Dr. Olufemi Joshua Taiwo was a lecturer at the College of Medicine of EKSU.

Several prayer points were raised by the Vice- Chancellor who is also a Senior Pastor of the Deeper Life Bible Church among which were prayers against untimely deaths through witchcrafts or agents of darkness. This special prayer which was attended by all Principal Officers of the University, Staff and Students, took place at the Main Auditorium of the University

The Vice-Chancellor further led prayers for the outgoing Registrar, Mr Emmanuel Ogunyemi and the incoming Registrar, Barrister Akin Arogundade.
