Pensioners of Ekiti State University have been described as a veritable association that would henceforth be consulted on matters affecting the University Community.
Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Samuel Oye Bandele made the pledge when he met the representatives of the Pensioners Association of the University in his office.
Prof Bandele told the representatives led by a retired Deputy Registrar of the University, Mr. R.A Adelusi that his administration would be open to all and sundry.
He also promised to look into the pensioners demand on the issues raised such as pension payments and the computation of earned allowances that some pensioners qualified for, before retirement, but were yet to be paid.
Prof Bandele outlined his vision to the former EKSU members of staff to include: raising the Internally Generated Revenue of the University to an enviable status making the entire University Information and Communication Technology [ICT] compliant.
Earlier the pensioners through their leader at occasion Mr. Adelusi asked the Vice-Chancellor to look into the prompt payment of their entitlements, review the payments according to what obtains in other Universities and consider Pensioners Children in the area of employment.
