Newly recruited Lecturers and Technologists in Ekiti State University (EKSU) have been told to take their duties seriously and make loyalty a hallmark in their day-to-day activities. They have also been told to be student-friendly.
The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Professor Samuel Oye Bandele gave the admonition during an orientation programme for the new members of staff.
The Vice-Chancellor who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor O.B. Ajayi said:“this mini-orientation becomes expedient in order for staff understand the academic and social terrains of the University which has its own tradition and culture…”
The Vice-Chancellor who spoke at length on why staff of the University should work hard to sustain the good name of the University warned against sexual harassment and other vices.
“As Lecturers and Technologists, you doubled in status as the students’ role models therefore, you are expected not to engage in any sexual harassment, extortion, examination malpractices and plagiarism”, Professor Bandele advised.
Other speakers at the occasion included the Director of Personnel of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Mr. T. O. Fagbemiro and all the Principal Officers of the University as well the Director of Health Services who gave an insight to services rendered by the University Health Centre.
The orientation programme took place inside the Odua hall of the institution.
