Ekiti State University (EKSU) fresh students at Osun State College of Education Ila Orangun were full of joy when they got matriculated recently. They showed this even in the rendition of the school anthem and particularly when the Vice Chancellor Professor Samuel Oye Bandele told them that Ekiti State University had in recent times received high patronage from applicants who sought admission from various parts of the country and that the matriculation marked their full acceptance into the membership of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.
Telling them that the secret of the success of EKSU lies in the strong desire to maintain high academic standards and moral probity, Professor Bandele advised the matriculants to avoid unwholesome behaviours and that the university authorities would monitor them closely.
“As new members of EKSU family, you should work assiduously to justify the dreams of the founding fathers by playing responsible roles in contributing to the human development needs of our country,” the Vice Chancellor said.
Professor Bandele warned that the university would not hesitate to expel any student whose behaviour does not confirm with acceptable norms of the University.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the new students.
The Provost of the College, Professor Isaac Oyewole, said that the college would continue to sustain the relationship with EKSU because of the high standard of the institution.
He advised the students to be of modest behaviour and warned that indiscipline would not be tolerated.
