The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Olubunmi B. Ajayi has reiterated the commitment of the University to producing men and women of honour in the society.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor made the commitment in her address at the 2018/2019 matriculation ceremony for regular and sandwich students of the University in affiliation with Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo.

Prof. Ajayi stated that the vision of the University is to mould the future leaders that would be produced in the University with good education, strong character, high level of morality and integrity.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor encouraged the students to be determined and resolute in making a huge success of their academic exploits and to refrain from considering education courses as inferior to other professional courses.

The Provost, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Dr. Rasak Adefabi, in his speech, assured that the College would not relent in putting in place acceptable learning infrastructure, equipment and resources.  He said that as part of the College’s contribution to human capacity development, nineteen (19) lecturers with Ph.D degree in different fields joined the staff strength of the College.

Dr. Adefabi remarked with delight that seven graduates of the University from the College bagged first class degrees and promised to improve on the achievements in subsequent convocation ceremonies.

The matriculation oath was administered on about 2,000 regular and sandwich students by the University’s Director of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Caroline Ogunsakin, on behalf of the Registrar, Barrister Akin Arogundade.
