The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Oladipo Aina has described the recent national honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) bestowed on a former Vice-chancellor of the institution, Professor Israel Olatunji Orubuloye as well deserved and a reward for his handwork and commitment of the award winner to the overall good of the nation.
A statement from the Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs of EKSU, quoted the Vice-Chancellor that the entire Ekiti State University community “is proud of the achievement of Prof. Israel Orubuloye who made immense contributions to the growth of the Ekiti State University and left behind a strong foundation upon which succeeding Vice-Chancellors have been building”.
Prof. Aina described the former EKSU Vice-Chancellor as a thoroughbred academic, a respected community leader and a worthy Ekiti son. The Vice-Chancellor added that the honour would spur Orubuloye to do more for education and societal growth as well as serve as a shining example to others.
Prof. Israel Orubuloye, the 4th Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University between 2004 and 2008, was among the selected Nigerians who were recognized for their outstanding virtues and services to the country by President Goodluck Jonathan recently.
