The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele, has congratulated the Nigerian table tennis sensation who is also a student of Ekiti State University, Esther Tosin Oribamise on her recent exploits in the game.
Professor Bandele noted that the qualification of Oribamise for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games scheduled to hold in Tunisia has further enhanced the good image of Ekiti State University, and Ekiti State in the field of sports.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Oribamise, a 200-level student of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education in the Faculty of Education, EKSU, being the only Nigerian player to have qualified for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Tunis is a pride, not only to EKSU and Ekiti State but also to Governor Ayodele Fayose who has done everything in his power to support Ekiti State University.
The Vice-Chancellor, therefore, congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State Dr. Ayodele Fayose on this feat achieved by Esther Tosin Oribamise. He used the occasion to congratulate the entire university community, particularly the students, for having a world-beater in person of Esther Tosin Oribamise. Professor Bandele urged other students to emulate Tosin by excelling in their various fields including sports.
It will be recalled that Professor Samuel Oye Bandele approved the award of Scholarship to Oribamise from 100-level to her final year in the University; this will not only enable her concentrate on her studies but to support her ambition to become a world-beater in table tennis.
Tosin is expected to arrive at the EKSU camp of the Nigerian University Games (NUGA) holding in Makurdi, Benue State anytime from now.
