The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele was one year in office on Friday, 2nd December, 2016 and marked the day with prayers during a maiden session of the Senate of the University inside the newly constructed Academic Building.
Professor F. M. Aderibigbe who is a Senior Pastor of Grace Covenant Church, Ado-Ekiti prayed for the Vice-Chancellor, his family and the entire University Community.
In another Session, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Development), Professor Iyiola Oluwaleye led prayers asking God to sustain the peace which had been on Campus for the last one year and asked for God Guidance for the Vice-Chancellor, his family and the University.
Professor Abdu-Raheem who conducted a Prayer session in the Islamic way, led the Congregation to pray for God’s mercy on the Vice-Chancellor, the University, the State and all members of staff.
The last session was led by Professor (Mrs) Femi Ola who started by rendering a song “we give you all the Glory…” She asked God to provide the enabling peace of mind and favour for the Vice-Chancellor to complete his tenure.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele acknowledged that all what he had achieved were through the Grace of God and that he would continue to perform his duties without fear or favour and promised to continue making his administration open and free of fraudulent practices. After the prayer session the paperless senate meeting continued.
