There is an estimated 22 million disabled people in Nigeria.

The President of the association of Persons living with disabilities in Ekiti State, Mr. Omotunla Omojola revealed this during a courtesy visit of members of his association to the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele in his office.

The association commended the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor S.O Bandele for his friendly disposition and support shown to physically-challenged persons in the university and elsewhere.

Mr. Omojola pointed out that members of the association in Ekiti State University are always thankful to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor S.O Bandele for his fatherly support and encouragement.

He added that the association will be happy to have the presence of the Vice-Chancellor on the International Day of Disabled persons 2016 known as the World Disabled Day scheduled for the 3rd of December, 2016.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bandele thanked them for the visit and assured of his support to their cause.

He stressed that he would continue to give adequate assistance to disabled persons whether students or workers.
