The Diocesan Bishop of Ekiti-Oke, Anglican Diocesan, Rt. Revd. Isaac Olatunde Olubowale has asked all Nigerians to have positive change of attitude in all endeavours to achieve the desired goals of having a better society.
He made the remark during a sermon at the funeral service for late Chief (Mrs.) Julianah Adesoye Bamidele at Saint Luke’s Anglican Church, Ijesha- Modu, Ekiti State. Bishop Olubowale noted that late Madam Adesoye Bamidele made a great change in her life by believing in God and looking at the positive side of life during her lifetime.
“This woman who is the mother of the Vice –Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof Samuel Oye Bandele was full of prayers that God would restore her son Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele to the position of Vice-Chancellor again since her son was suddenly removed as the Vice-Chancellor of the former University of Science and Technology (USTI) Ifaki Ekiti. She did not lose hope that her son would bounce back as the Vice –Chancellor “the Bishop declared.
Bishop further said that Nigerians should learn from the life and times of Late Mrs Julianah Adesoye Bamidele that though she died shortly before her son became the Vice-Chancellor of EKSU, yet her faith was with her till the end that her son would become the Vice-Chancellor of a University. At the service attended by dignitaries all over Nigeria, the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele described his mother as a hardworking, humble, loving, caring and accessible. He described her as a mother in a million who stood by her children through storm and rains. He was particularly moved that she was no longer alive when God restored him as the Vice-Chancellor according to her wish.
The Funeral service was attended by dignitaries which included; the Governor of Ekiti State and his wife ably represented by Chief (Mrs.) Abiola Yesufu, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Jide Egunjobi, former Vice-Chancellor of the Defunct University of Ado-Ekiti, Prof. Dipo Kolawole, former Vice-Chancellor of the defunct The University of Education Ikere-Ekiti (TUNEDIK), Prof. Lucas Ogunlade , members of the Ekiti State University Governing Council, Professors across Nigerian Universities, Deputy Registrars, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of Ekiti State University among others. Dr (Mrs.) Monisola Oyarekuah who is the new Provost of College of Education Ikere Ekiti, was also at the service.
A day before the funeral service, there was a service of songs for the late Mrs Julianah at the Vice-Chancellor residence. Late Chief (Mrs.) Juilanah Adesoye Bamidele was interred at her residence shortly after the funeral service.
Late Chief (Mrs.) Julianah Adesoye Bamidele was born into the royal family of the Akuruyejo ruling house in Ijesamodu-Ekiti. She grew up as young woman with prospects under Eyeyoyin at Egena in Ijesamodu-Ekiti.She was a devoted Christian and she attended the Anglican Church from birth
Chief ( Mrs.) Julianah Adesoye Bamidele was a successful business woman and trader from her youth. Her entrepreneurial successes were recognized and she was installed as the Iyaloja of Ijesamodu-Ekiti, the position she held for more than 20 years before her death.
Chief (Mrs.) Julianah Adesoye Bamidele was a loving mother but a very strict and uncompromising defender of her rights. She was energetic and very healthy until old age
Chief (Mrs.) Julianah Adesoye is survived by her sister Mrs comfort Dairo, Children, Grandchildren, Great grandchildren. She died at the age of 84 years
