The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele has assured members of staff that he would be fair and ensure equity and openness in his administration.

Prof. Bandele said this during a special thanksgiving prayer organized for him by the Faculty of Education of Ekiti State University.

The Vice-Chancellor who attended the thanksgiving prayer alongside his wife, Mrs. Titilayo Bandele said that his appointment was a divine and rare accomplishment  from God to lead Ekiti State University after two unfinished tenure in office as former Vice-Chancellor of The University of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, (TUNEDIK) and University of Science and Technology, Ifaki-Ekiti (USTI).

The EKSU Vice-Chancellor said he adopted the principles of leadership to be fair, firm, fearless and faithful to God, with the belief that God would always be on his side. He said that Ekiti State University would renew an affiliate programme with a South Korean University which would allow over 300 level engineering students complete their degrees in South Korea.

The Vice-Chancellor said the University would be Information and Communication Technology (ICT) driven with adherence to innovations.

 Prof. Bandele promised to complete all ongoing construction work on campus, embark on new projects and seek ways to boost the internally generated revenue of the University.

In his remarks, the Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Isaac Ajayi said the University should rebrand and re-engineer the various affiliates  programmes with Colleges of Education to other generate funds.

The Faculty thereafter presented gifts to the new Vice-Chancellor who was a former Dean of the Faculty of Education between year 2000 – 2002.
