The inauguration of the Technical Committee on Information Communication and Communication (ICT) committee and the workshop on the development Ekiti State University (EKSU) is an attempt to get the university out of manual operations and make the institution imbibe the culture of an ICT driven community.

Professor Samuel Oye Bandele stressed this while inaugurating the Technical Committee on Friday, 15th December 2015 at the Faculty of Education conference room.

According to him, Ekiti State University would soon get out of the woods because those involved in the workshop are from ICT top rated institutions and organizations.  He said that all hands have been put on the deck to join other elite Universities in the field of ICT.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that before a University could be great, ICT would have a pivotal role to play, adding that this was what prompted him to set up a committee that would drive the mission.  He frowned at the fraudulent practices among staff and students in the processing of students examination results and payment of fees promising that ICT driven society would stop such malpractices. 

Professor Bandele charged members of the committee to work relentlessly to meet the yearnings of the teaming population of Ekiti State University and other stakeholders.

The Chairman of the Technical Committee is Prof.  (Mrs.) F. Mathew Ojelabi while members are: Dr. Peter Ajayi, Dr I. B. Oluwafemi, Dr. A. O. Fasuyi, Mr. E. K. Falemu, Mr. A. O. Adedoja, Mrs. C. O. Famodimu, Mr. Samuel Odeyemi and Mr. Samuel Adeleke, and  Mr. O. J. Aborisade serves as the Secretary.

Later, ICT experts from First Bank, Feghas Software, Prunedge Development Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and other organizations participated in a workshop that followed the inauguration.  The presentations of the experts centred on ways to revitalize the ICT of the University.
