The annual Health meeting of the Junior Chamber International JCI, EKSU Chapter has been rounded off with an awareness walk against cancer which was create public attention to the need for the prevention of the deadly disease.
According to the president of the club, Mr. Fashola Kolawole and the Director of award sponsorship land projects, Miss Bukola Fagade, the Health week which was named after the Chief Medical Director of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Kolawole Ogundipe started with the donation of two hundred and seventy thousand naira to fund the surgery of the young girl child Omotola who has an abnormal swollen head and has been without any help.
This singular act was commended by the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Her Excellency, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose.
The JCI Health week also witnessed the donation of Blood to the National Blood centre as well as the donation of Hospital bed covers, pillow cases and other materials to the Health centre.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Victor Adeoluwa who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele commended the humanitarian effort of the young students whom he said are signs that the nation will still be great.
