Safety Instrumented System is the whole of the physical components of the safety related systems, including all the sensors and their interconnections (with amplifiers/barriers), the actuators and their interconnections (with control valves and barriers and logic solvers (PLC or cabled), with or without software. Our experience spans through all stages of functional safety as specified by IEC standard.

Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

An unidentified hazard cannot be properly guided against. This stage identifies the hazard and analyse the need for additional layers of protection. The tools applicable at this stage are HAZOP, FMEA etc.

Allocation of SIF and SIL number  to safety instrument system

The analysis of consequence and available  safeguards is performed to determine the need for additional layers of protection. Using Risk graph and/or LOPA tool,  it is possible to determine the required SIL number. Beyond Energy have qualified Risk Graph and LOPA facilitator who will ensure that assessment is properly conducted and managed to achieve its aims.

Specification and Validation

Development of functional specification & validation plans and verification of safety requirements. This will normally involve determining the Probability of failure on Demand (PFD).

Installation to De-commissioning

We’ll provide supports during installation, commissioning, operations, maintenance  and modification of safety instrumented systems.
