A delegation from the National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS) led by, the Senate President Comrade Odebunmi Idowu has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, professor Samuel Oye Bandele.
The team commended the Vice-Chancellor for his efforts to ensure smooth running of the activities in the University. And commended the Vice Chancellor for coordinating a stable academic calendar in Ekiti state University, They also showed interest in the inconclusive elections held last week for the Student Union Government leaders.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele thanked them for their hard work and their interest in the Ekiti State University and assured them that a panel has been set up and is doing everything possible to investigate and resolve the issue.
He said his interest as the Chief Security Officer of the institution is to ensure all students are safe and that they focus on their academics, adding that students are expected to graduate having certified the university standard for excellence in learning and character.
He further said any student who violates the regulations of the University will be held responsible for wrong behaviour. The Vice Chancellor added that the management is working towards the students writing their 2nd semester examinations as soon as possible.
The NANS senate president Comrade Odebunmi Idowu encouraged student leaders to be of good conduct and ensure they protect the best interest of majority students which they are leading.
