It was a glorious reunion as the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele visited the United Kingdom on an official visit and met an alumnus of the university who has just been elected as mayor of Thurrock Country, Essex United Kingdom.
The Vice-Chancellor is on a mission to reinvigorate the University Alumni association in overseas Countries and galvanize them into supporting their alma mater through various opportunities including facilitating affiliate relationships with international institutions and corporate organizations as well as providing funding for the University.
Professor Oye Bandele was happy to meet the newly elected mayor of Thurrock country, Mr TundeOjetola who graduated from Ekiti State University in the year 1991 from the Faculty of Arts where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
The EKSU Vice-Chancellor was accompanied during the visit by other alumni of the University based in the United Kingdom which included Mr. Remi Jackson, a top ranking Barrister and Solicitor in the United Kingdom, Pastor Shola Oluwabusola, Mrs. Yemi Agbaro and the current president of the Alumni United Kingdom and Ireland as well as Mr. Olatunde Fapohunda.
Professor Bandele who was received by the Mayor of Thurrock country, in his office congratulated Mr. Ojetola on the glorious achievement which he said underscored his quality as a man of integrity, with proper education.
The Vice-Chancellor urged him and other UK based Alumni to give back to their alma mater as Universities all over the world regards their graduates as their greatest assets.
The Mayor of Thurrock country, Mr. Tunde Ojetola thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his visit and assured him of his support adding that he will mobilize his colleagues towards developing the University.
