The Vice-Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele has said that the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation has changed positively the face of Nigerian Universities. The Vice-Chancellor made the commendation while welcoming ten NUC accreditation teams that are visiting some programmes of the University.
“If not for Accreditation most of our Universities would have been glorified primary schools” Professor Bandele declared. He, however, urged the accreditation teams to do their job fairly bearing in mind the current economic situation in the country.
The ten NUC accreditation teams are visiting courses in Faculties of Education, Science, Arts, Social Sciences and Management Sciences.
The courses include Accounting, Business Administration, Science Laboratory Technology, Science Education, Vocational Technical Education, French, Yoruba, Mathematics, Psychology and Microbiology.
Professor Samuel Ezeju who spoke on behalf of other members of the accreditation groups thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his warm welcome and promised to work with honesty and integrity
