It was commendation galore for Ekiti State University from the National Universities Commission, NUC headquarters, Abuja as the Executive Secretary of the commission, Prof Juilus Okojie hosted the management of Ekiti State University.

            The visit was part of the familiarization tour of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oye Bandele to important organisations and institutions with remarkable relationship and influence on the growth and development of Ekiti State University.

            Prof Okojie while receiving the EKSU team said that as a former Vice -Chancellor, he had knowledge of the enormous pressure attended to the responsibilities of the office of a Vice-Chancellor.

            The NUC boss said that Ekiti State University was in the category “A” of how University should grow.  He added that the University environment should always be a dynamic community of learned people who engage in teaching, research and community service.

            The renowned administrator, credited with unprecedented transformation of the NUC into a disciplined and effective enforcer of the regulations for Nigeria Universities said that the NUC has raised the bar, in terms, of standard and quality of Nigeria Universities.

            Prof Okojie commended the smooth transition of power from former Vice-Chancellor, Prof Oladipo Aina to the incumbent Vice-Chancellor Prof Oye Bandele adding that Vice-Chancellors are made from heaven and only God installs Vice-Chancellors

            In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof Samuel Oye Bandele thanked the NUC boss for appointing EKSU former Vice Chancellor, Prof Oladipo Aina as a visiting professor to the National Universities Commission.

            Prof Bandele explained that his administration has successfully held the first Internal Revenue Generation (IGR) summit and Academic summit in just two months in office adding that the implementation review stage has started with the aim of making the University wealthy as well as chart a new course for quality academic attainment.

            The Vice-Chancellor informed the NUC boss that the university is making plans to start new academic programmes to award Bachelor degree in Tests and Measurement, Marketing and Insurance.

            In his response, the Executive Secretary of NUC Prof Julius Okojie said the University is moving in the right direction and assured that NUC will help in ensuring quality.

            The meeting was attended by top management team of the National Universities Commission including Prof Chiedu Mafiara (Deputy Executive Secretary) Ibrahim Dan Cya (Deputy Executive 11) Dr S.B Rahmon Yusuf, (Director Research and Innovation) Mrs. Contance Goddy Nnadi (Director, Executive Secretary office) and Professor Oladipo Aina; EKSU team has the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Oye Bandele, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) Prof Victor Adeoluwa and the Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Ogunyemi.
