The founding fathers of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been commended for their vision in establishing the programme which has today become a major factor in the Nation’s development.
The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Professor Samuel Oye Bandele made the observation while commissioning a state-of-the-art toilet constructed for EKSU by four (4) NYSC Corp members.
Professor Samuel Oye Bandele who was highly impressed commended the founding fathers saying “We are happy that Nigeria can still sustain the NYSC programme because many programmes in the country have somersaulted while the NYSC programme remains.”
He stressed that the performance of the NYSC members nationwide particularly in EKSU has proved that the education system in Nigeria is not falling.
Professor Bandele commended the four corp members who executed the project and noted that their names will be written in gold in the institution “I want to say you have done this for us in this university but you may not know that the greater one is for you”
Professor Bandele at the occasion directed that a special letter of commendation should be given to them as evidence of their meritorious service in EKSU.
The Vice Chancellor promised adequate support for the outgoing corp members in their endeavours.
The four NYSC members who constructed the toilet are: Okeke Francis, Aniagana Johnson, Okezie Ejike and Ogbegie Emmanuel.
All Principal Officers of the university attended the commissioning.
