The new Provost of the College of Medicine, Professor Kehinde Oluwadiya and other member of Staff of the College have been told to work harder than before to sustain the good reputation of the College.
Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof. Patrick Oladipo Aina gave the charge in an address during the Academic Staff Assembly (ASA) of the College of Medicine where Professor Oluwadiya was elected as the New Provost on Thursday, 6th August, 2015.
“The stage you are now is critical, with the recent accreditation of the College, you have to work harder than before,” the Vice-Chancellor stressed.
Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina congratulated Professor Oluwadiya who emerged with 53 votes without opposition and urged him to carry along his staff in decision-making to build on the achievements of his predecessors.
Oluwadiya promised to explore the possibilities of leveraging the professional expertise of the staff in all spheres including the improvement of the finances of the College and the University.
He also promised to work closely with the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital to achieve positive results.
The new Provost pledged that all hands would be on deck to make sure the first Professional Examination in the College holds in September this year.
He commended the efforts of the Past Provosts of the College namely; Professor David Oyebola, Professor G.J.F. Esan, and Emeritus Professor Matthew Araoye.
Professor Oluwadiya who succeeds Emeritus Professor Araoye further pledge that the students of the College of medicine would rank among the best in the country.
The Registrar of the University, Mr Emmanuel Ogunyemi moderated the election. The occasion was attended by all the Principal Officers of the University
