The senate of Ekiti State University has taken steps to join the digital global community as it gradually jettisons the manual paper senate to become a paperless senate which activities are conducted using the computers and other Information Communication Technology.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Prof. Bolanle Ajayi at the occasion said he was happy to have taken the giant steps in his desire to transform the University to an ICT driven institution.
He added that the University Senate would benefit a lot from the ICT driven Senate meeting to reduce time allotted and enhance speed.
The Chairman of the paperless Senate Committee, Prof. Felix Aderibigbe was on hand to put members through and ensure they fully understand the workings of the new order.
Two members of Senate, Dr. Tijani Adekiledun, HOD Anatomy department, College of Medicine and Dr. Pat Oyeniyi, HOD Human Kinetic, Faculty of Education both expressed optimum that the paperless Senate will reduce use of bulky papers, accelerate decision making efforts and improve the ICT knowledge of member with this new development, starting from October, 2016 senate meeting, Ekiti State University senate will be conducted electronically.
