{xtypo_info}General Information on the Framework and Services of the Department:{/xtypo_info}{xtypo_rounded2}The Part-Time Programme of the University of Ado-Ekiti is essentially a weekend programme designed to cater for working executives, middle class and junior workers seeking to improve their intellectual horizon without necessarily withdrawing from the employment. The programme runs like the regular academic programme, though the students attend lectures at weekends sharing the same interactive advantages as those in full time (regular) University programmes. Most importantly, students undergoing the programme relate their practical work experience with the programme.

The Part Time Programmes are divided into both Undergraduate and Postgraduate. The courses under Postgraduate programme include: Masters Programmes: Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Environmental Management, Industrial and Labour Relations, Personnel Psychology, Public Administration, Petroleum Economics, Recreation and Tourism and Information Technology. Postgraduate Diplomas: Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management and Postgraduate diploma in Public Administration.

All these programmes are aimed at equipping top and middle level managers with further tools for efficient performance of their duties. The course builds on the diversity of experience among participants, giving a formulation of the theory of management as well as the skills to put that into practice. Both staff and participants will benefit from the unique cross fertilization of ideas and experiences which would offer them more opportunity to consolidate their experiences, develop their skills and acquire more versatility.

The Postgraduate Diploma courses are designed to remedy deficiencies for direct admission into the MBA and MPA programmes. Indeed, applicants with these certificates have a better chance for admission in response to the yearnings of Government and private organizations to arrest the mismanagement of the dwindling financial resources of the country. It is argued that effective planning, organization, coordination and implementation of development projects, the management of change and the provision of efficient services are all dependent on a continuous supply of high level man power. For these reasons, these programmes accommodate variety of students from various academic backgrounds. The Postgraduate Diploma Programme is for one year duration.
