The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Ekiti State University, Professor Bamitale Omole has met with the stakeholders of the University to intimate them of the new vision of the University and to seek their cooperation in the tasks ahead.
The University stakeholders made up of Professors, Directors of Academic and Non Teaching Directorates, Senior academic and Non Teaching staff, Union leaders and the President of the University Alumni, Dotun Adetuberu.
Professor Omole informed the gathering that his appointment would among others, implement the report of the Visitation Panel instituted by the Visitor to the University, Governor Kayode Fayemi where it was stated that the University must move in a new direction.
The Pro-Chancellor introduced the new council members to the audience and solicited their support to make EKSU great among Global institutions of learning.
He noted with delight the infrastructural development in the University, but lamented the delay in the completion of medical programmes in the College of Medicine adding that it was absurd for the medical students to be spending longer years in the college of medicine with a promise that the Governor was ready to help the University.
Professor Omole hinted that he was already in good working relationship with the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi B. Ajayi who will be running the affairs of the University pending the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor.
