A Don, Dr. Olu Olatunji, has said that today’s career women have a lot to deal with and must be ready to manage stress in order to avoid serious health challenges.
According to Olatunji, who is a clinical Psychologist at Ekiti State University said this could be done through creating time for vacation, observing siesta, adhering to set priorities, avoiding overwork and delegating simple errands especially those that can be done for her by others.
He encouraged the career women to engage in constant open communications with their spouses on their schedules and seek the family understanding at all times. Above all, no one is indispensable.
He made the suggestions at the one day seminar organized by the Women in Science for Developing World, EKSU chapter held at Odua Auditorium of Ekiti State University.
The event which also featured the inauguration of new executives was attended by EKSU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele who commended the heroic efforts of today’s career women.
Prof. Bandele said the women must not neglect their family needs on the pretense of attaining academic heights adding that a successful career without a good home is not appealing to God because the family is a ministry of the faith and God.
The immediate past president of the organization of Women in Science for Developing World, Prof. Mrs. Obiyinka Ogundele inaugurated the new executives led by Dr. Mrs. Adekemi Oluyege.
The new executives will pilot the affairs of OWSD for the next two years.
