Members of staff of Ekiti State University have held a one-day orientation seminar organized in collaboration with the Code of Conduct Bureau aimed at sensitizing the University Community on the
requirements of the nation’s law as regards public officials and their
assets.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oladipo Aina who was represented by the Provost, College of Post Graduate Studies, Prof. Dipo Ogunleye who welcomed the staff to the event explained that the University
community is ready to cooperate with government officials on all genuine and obligatory responsibilities required by law.

Prof. Aina described the university staff as honest, hardworking and responsible members of the community who earn legitimate means of livelihood.

The State Director of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Mr. F. Feyisola explained that relevant sections of the Nigerian Constitution require that all public officers who are employed by state and federal
government must declare their assets at four years interval.

This he said was contrary to the belief that only political office holders like the President, Governors and Legislators who are affected by law of asset declaration.
