The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU) Professor Samuel Oye Bandele has told the newly elected members of the students Union Executive that their election was a call to service. He told them to brace for the challenge of leadership.
Professor Bandele made the remarks in his office when the Students Union Executive led by Aridiogo David Olaitan paid a courtesy visit to him in his office.
The meeting which was the first of its type by the new Executive was an opportunity for the Vice Chancellor to announce that EKSU ventures would soon be producing bottled water and bread. He asked the students to patronize the products.
Other issues affecting the students were brought up at the meeting by the Executive. These include; Health care for students, summer school, affordable and access to internet services as well as grants to the body.
Professor Bandele assured that the requests would be looked into.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the newly elected Students Union Executive and counseled them to plan for their future.
